Overall Job Purpose: To join the successful team as a Catering Assistant. You will be expected to shadow and assist your team members while they undertake a variety of preparing/serving tasks. This will primarily be to establish 2 brand new kiosks and continue to maintain a high-level of service to the client’s customers.

Responsible to: Catering Supervisor

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cash handling
  • Opening the trailer in the morning
  • Cooking meat to be served for that day
  • Preparing vegetables & other raw ingredients
  • Maintaining hygiene standards and documentation
  • Stock management & ordering in the absence of the supervisor
  • Following correct closing down procedures at the end of the day
  • Be prepared to work at multiple catering kiosks around Devon and Cornwall

Personal Specifications:

  • High standard of cleanliness
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working hours and practices
  • Demonstrate high standards and be well organised

Qualifications and Certification:

  • Driving licence with own transport
  • Previous experience working in catering preferred, but is not essential
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety would be an advantage
  • Food hygiene certificate level 2 (although training can be provided)
    In the absence of formal qualifications, relevant experience will be considered

Additional Information

Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8.00am – 3.00pm / Sunday 10.00am – 3.00pm (not including set up and clean down times.)

Location: Exeter (Based)

Remuneration: £9.50ph

Probation: 3 month probationary period
