Overall Job Purpose:  To join our successful client in Mid-Devon as an experienced Butcher on the nightshift team – You will be expected to prepare; Beef, Lamb and Pork to required specifications while adhering to required food, hygiene and safety regulations at all times.

Responsible to: Manager/Supervisor                                                              

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deconstruction/break down of animal carcasses
  • Preparation of; Beef, Lamb and Pork to required specifications
  • Maintain/Manage health, safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Completion of customer’s orders to meet required delivery dates/times
  • Follow appropriate rules and regulations set by your employer

Person Specification

  • Previous experience working as a Butcher or similar role
  • Comfortable working in a food production environment (Raw Meat)
  • High standard of cleanliness
  • Demonstrate excellent punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety practices and health & safety procedures
  • Work well under pressure

Qualifications and Certification

  • Secondary School Level Education (English & Maths)
  • Food hygiene certification (Advantage)
  • In the absence of formal qualifications, relevant experience will of course be considered.

Additional Information

Type of Employment:            Permanent

Night Shift Hours:                  Sunday-Thursday (19:00-Midnight)

                                                Or, Wednesday to Friday (19:00-Midnight)

Location:                                 Mid-Devon                             

Remuneration:                       £14.00ph
