Overall Job Purpose:

To lead a team within the Environmental Health Service, participate in high profile/complex field work and to support the Environmental Health and Parking Services Manager in achieving the priorities and objectives of the company.

Responsible to: Environmental Health & Parking Services Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall budget for the Environmental Protection Team
  • Attend meetings as required (flexibility in working hours is essential)
  • Promote positive communication across the organisation, encourage constructive relationships and develop staff feedback methods
  • Write reports for members, Strategic Management Team and partner working groups to consider, on issues relating to the Environmental Protection Team functions
  • Encourage a learning culture and positively manage the training and development of the Environmental Protection staff to ensure staff maintain technical and professional competence

  • Ability to keep calm and work well under pressure

Qualifications and Certification

  • Qualified Environmental Health officer registered with the CIEH (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health)
  • Transport required due to location

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 37 hours per week

Duration: Monday 2nd March – Friday 29th May 2020
